The restaurant design features historic images of Fremantle Harbour and surrounds to highlight the link between the development of the city and the evolution of the Hotel site. The Habour Master derives its name from the first owner of the Hotel site, Captain Daniel Scott, who arrived in Fremantle in 1829 and became Harbour Master until his retirement in 1851. Captain Scott leased the Hotel site to the Government as a temporary convict establishment to assist in housing the first arrivals.
